With spring on the horizon, many of us are contemplating ways to refresh our homes, or perhaps even prepare for them to hit the Spring Market*. While the Carolyn Homes Team is always happy to walk you through our suggestions for improvements to create the most significant value in your home, we can unequivocally tell you that fresh paint is a must before going on the market. It can also be a great way to give a room a new look without breaking the bank!
Get ahead of the trends with the Better Homes & Gardens 2023 Paint Color Forecast! “According to paint manufacturers’ 2023 color forecasts, a connection to the earth and its natural resources is the guiding influence on predicted paint color trends in the year ahead. Consider shades of green that evoke the forest, grass, and other elements of nature.” Gone are the days of all-white and neutral-gray homes!
Not keen on a new moss-green living room? Consider combining unique paint colors with a more neutral wallpaper, incorporating an accent wall, or getting creative on what else you could paint (think built-ins, cabinets, and more!)
Color experts also note the trend towards warmer paint colors over the last few years (try Behr’s 2023 color of the year, Blank Canvas, for an updated neutral!) Better Homes & Gardens also suggests “Spicy Hues” and “Dark, Moody Shades” trending as a way to bring pops of color into your home.
We can’t wait to see how you incorporate these newest shades into your own homes this Spring!
*Pro Tip: The “Spring” Market actually begins in January, and not just because of the unusually warm winter here in D.C.! In the D.C. metro area, market activity typically peaks in March/April and tapers by Memorial Day each year.
