On December 14, the Montgomery County Planning Board unanimously voted to approve Marriot’s conceptual and site plans for the corporation’s new headquarters at 7550 Wisconsin Avenue.
The development will include a 12-story, 238-key hotel with ground-floor restaurant, 8,000 square-foot meeting space, and third-floor “innovation lab” to be delivered in October 2021 as well as a 21-story, L-shaped headquarters building with public plaza.
Further collaboration between the development team and planning staff will need to be done to make the site and surrounding area fully ADA-compliant. Groundbreaking is scheduled to occur in the third quarter of 2018.
