D.C. is set to celebrate the Capitals winning the first Stanley Cup in franchise history this Tuesday, June 12 with a victory parade downtown.
The parade kicks off at 11 a.m., starting at Constitution Avenue and 17th Street near the Washington Monument. It will proceed along Constitution Avenue to Seventh Street and end with a rally on the National Mall.
With numerous street closures and parking restrictions, public transportation is most likely the best option for getting to and from the parade. Metro will operate rush-hour service levels throughout the day, opening at 5 a.m.
The weather is expected to be partly cloudy with a high of 78 degrees.
