An analysis by local real estate website UrbanTurf found that 2.5 percent of homes sold in the district were purchased for north of $2 million, keeping pace with luxury sales for each of the last two years.
A total of 190 of 7,771 listings sold this year were purchased for over $2 million; 55 homes sold for over $3 million.
The areas of DC with the highest concentration of luxury sales are Georgetown, Spring Valley, Kent, and Massachusetts Avenue Heights, where the average sales price this year is $3 million.
