Happy 4th of July from The Carolyn Homes Team!
As America celebrates its 243rd year, tens of thousands of revelers are anticipated to visit the nation’s capital and participate in parades, parties, and other festivities. Here are a few of the special events happening around the district on the 4th:
Parades
*Barracks Row 4th of July Parade, 9 – 11 AM, route begins at the I-295/395 overpass and ends at the Eastern Market Metro Plaza.
*Palisades Parade, 11 AM, route runs from MacArthur Boulevard NW from Whitehaven Park to Edmunds Place NW
*National Independence Day Parade, 11:45 AM – 2 PM, route runs along Constitution Avenue from 3rd Street to 23rd Street NW. The parade will feature marching bands, fife and drum corps, floats, military units, giant balloons, and drill teams.
National Mall Events
*A Capitol Fourth Concert, 8 PM – 9:30 PM at the West Lawn of the Capitol, features performances by Carole King, Lindsey Stirling, Vanessa Carlton, and more!
*The Fireworks Display, 9:07 PM – 9:42 PM (approximate), will be the culmination of the Independence Day festivities on the Mall and be visible from locations throughout DC and Northern Virginia.
Baseball at Nationals Park
*The Nationals host the Marlins, 11:05 AM
