• “An Impending Silence: Vanishing African Wildlife” – Visit the Waverly Street Gallery, located at 4600 East West Highway in Bethesda, to view Carol Leadbetter’s striking photographs of vulnerable African wildlife. The exhibit runs September 5 through October 7 (open Tuesday through Saturday, 12 – 6 PM), and you can meet Leadbetter each Saturday from 2 – 4 PM.
• Exhibition of the 2017 Trawick Prize Finalists – The Trawick Prize, established by Carol Trawick in 2003, is awarded each year to artists from Maryland, D.C., and Virginia. See the work of selected finalists and the 2017 winners September 6 through September 30 at Gallery B, located at 7700 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite E (open Wednesday through Saturday from 12 – 6 PM).
• “Paintings of New England” – Marin-Price Galleries presents paintings by Michael Moss, Susan O’Brien McLean, Gary Riggin, Michael Graves, and March Avery. The artists depict scenes of New England in a variety of styles. Marin-Price Galleries is located at 7022 Wisconsin Avenue (open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 am – 7 PM & Sunday from 12 – 5 PM).
