*A mixed-use development at 7000 Wisconsin Avenue will include a roughly 4,000-square foot movie theater, per plans filed by Starr Capital with the Montgomery County Planning Department. The development will also include 200 residences and up to 15,000 square feet of retail.
*The Montgomery County Department of Transportation has proposed widening a 1-mile stretch of Goldsboro Road to improve bicyclist and pedestrian safety. If approved, 4- to 6-foot-wide bike lanes, continuous sidewalks on the north side and intermittent sidewalks on the south side would be added to the project area stretching from MacArthur Boulevard to River Road. The project would could $21 million.
*Wilgus-Montrose Associates has filed a sketch plan for the mixed-use development of a site near Montrose Parkway in White Flint that includes about 250,000 square feet of retail, townhouses, and apartments. The developers will use environmental-friendly designs including bioretention areas, vegetation and green roofs, and planter boxes. The next step in the process will be a preliminary/site plan.
*The new owners of Discovery Inc.’s HQ in downtown Silver Spring, Foulger-Pratt and Cerberus Capital Management, announced plans to begin a $15 million renovation in the summer. The building will be re-named “Inventa Towers,” and interior updates will include a 4,000-square foot fitness center, 4,600-square foot conference center, and common areas.
