According to rental platform Zumper, which analyzed active listings in September across eight metro-area cities, Bethesda is the most expensive location to rent in, with one-bedroom units priced at a median of $2,270 per month. The median rent for a one-bedroom in D.C. was slightly lower, at $2,260 per month. In Arlington, one-bedrooms had a median monthly rent of $2,140.
Despite topping the list of current rental rates, Bethesda experienced a 6.6% year-over-year decline in one-bedroom median rent prices. Reston had the highest yearly growth rate, at 15.5%.
